Sinulog 2008

First thing I can remember when it comes to Sinulog festival was when I was in my high school in 1998. At that time, I was a member of our school drum and bugle corps, which is one of the most memorable experiences that I can’t stop thinking about. It actually made a rather nostalgic moment whenever I see these lads pounding and beating the drums, blowing their bugles together with those lively dancers.

As a matter of fact, it brings back memories that it simply puts me into somewhere those years. Sinulog 1998, now Sinulog 2008. 10 years simply makes a big difference and to make it official, my 2008 calendar should arrive sooner.

The festival

Back then, being part with the festivity is simply overwhelming but I certainly can’t believe we walked that distance from the starting spot of Cebu City Sports Center all the way back for almost one whole day. That was some experience indeed and it simply reminded me how energetic, lively and packed-with-stamina that I was. Aside from that, it was a festival that would certainly remind me all about Sinulog.

Today, I’m all grown up and have started to think about joining the celebration for the annual big event in Cebu. I bet everybody is excited to wake up in a bright yet breezy Sunday morning, gear up for the long-distance walk and enjoy the sights once you set into the midst of Sinulog 2008. If I were you, I wouldn’t forget bringing my digicam and some batteries to take full opportunity for multiple snapshots.

Anyway, it would be great to see the Sinulog 2008 full action. Some would mingle into the crowd and get involved with the celebration while others would just sit on the sofa and watch the Sinulog event live together with their family. After all, watching the Sinulog event on television would be the wisest thing to do if you want to avoid the rowdy crowd and a seemingly spark of a stampede.

Well, I think Dr. Phil would recommend staying at home and simply enjoy the sights on screen but it’s also great to see those spectacular dancing, designs, and the overall celebration right in front of your eyes. Trust me, it’s worth taking a long walk to the big event and I, certainly, am looking forward to it.

So get ready and gear up for Sinulog 2008 this coming January 20, 2008 or simply mark your 2008 calendar if you’ve been watching too much Lindsay Lohan news.
