Cebu Hotels: Cebu Northwinds Hotel

Some Cebu hotels, especially beach resorts in Cebu, are rather too far to stay in. It may not be convenient for travelers but there are also some hotels in Cebu that are maybe far, but its all worth it. I’m not going to talk entirely about the distance of these Cebu hotels but also the traffic volume during the trip to your intended accommodation.

Beach resorts in Cebu are understandable when it comes to location, but in most cases it’s not like Easter Island where it is much promising. I’d rather watch the NBA Playoffs 2008 games than to look for these distant beach resorts but maybe it’s just me. Some are worth exploring actually. So, if you are one of those travelers who look for accessibility (i.e. shopping malls, clubs, etc.) the Cebu Northwinds Hotel is located in Lahug, Cebu, just minutes away from the Cebu Waterfront Hotel.

I actually know someone who was able to stay there for four nights for at least 1,800 pesos per night. He was wise enough to take the Cebu Northwinds Hotel and take a tour around the city, especially the Waterfront Casino. Also, with only 5-10 minutes trip to Ayala Center, and 15-20 minutes to SM City, he was able to enjoy his stay.

Anyway, back at Cebu Northwinds Hotel, he highlighted the hotel crew with their substantial service. One downside though is that the reception desk crew was a bit snobbish. This is actually one of the most sought out critiques by travelers when they visit hotels in Cebu. The reception staff is considered to be one of the first ones to greet the visitor and they simply flaunt about how good-looking they are or how smart-looking they are. An improvement should be considered rapidly.

The Ambassador room was alright. It was neat, clean and the room service is free but everything looks small inside with the size of the bed. Air conditioning works and so is the refrigerator and television. The internet connection was not working though unlike some of the Cebu hotels that offer this feature. Other rooms include Standard, De Luxe, Executive, Superior and Presidential.

Outside Cebu Northwinds Hotel, Japanese and Filipino food restaurants are present and look decent as well as the sports bars and a spa. Overall, his stay was wonderful since he gets to go around while he noted that the hotel is worth another visit.
