Casa Gorordo Museum
Cebu prides itself on many things, from the undeniable talents of musicians and artists that came from Cebu, to the its spectacular festivals. But one thing that you can’t deny from the locals is the fact that they keep sacred their culture and heritage. To see what Cebu was like in the past, one of the main tourist attractions to visit would be the Casa Gorordo Museum.
About the museum
Once the home of Juan Gorordo (1862-1934), Cebu’s very first Filipino bishop, the Casa Gorordo Museum houses some of the oldest and most cherished relics and items of the lifestyle of the Filipino people during the 1860s to 1920s. Here, you can take a tour inside and experience the atmosphere of the past Filipino time. You can view paintings and furniture from the olden days and enjoy the view of the amazing courtyard.
Experience
The first time I went to the Casa Gorordo Museum, it was for a drawing class. We had to capture the beauty of the outside in the courtyard. It was beautiful. The maintenance of the place is superb and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It is truly a sight to see and a place to experience.
