Talaandig Tribe Comes to Cebu
To celebrate the National Indigenous People’s Month, the Talaandig Tribe shared their art of soil painting and tribal musical instruments playing through the event called Huning Lumad (Native Sound) from October 26-28, 2012. The event was organized by and was held at the JRG Halad Museum.
Cebuano film Di Ingon ‘Nato, showing in SM Cinemas
For the first time, a Cebuano film is going to be on regular theatre run in SM Cinemas Cebu and Consolacion starting October 31 to November 6, 2012. A masterpiece of Brandon Relucio and Ivan Zaldarriaga, the film Di Ingon ‘Nato (Not Like Us) won Best Feature Film at the Macabro International Horror Film Festival in Mexico. It stars Rez Cortez, Mercedes Cabral, Franco Reyes, Donna Gimeno, and more.
To many Cebuanos especially to those who have been trying to revive the film industry (back in the 50s, Cebu was a film capital in the Visayas), this event is uplifting and is indeed a milestone. While there are several independent Cebuano films that have been shown in SM theaters as part of film events, not one has reached this kind of achievement.

Woman Serye: Cancer Awareness events in J Centre
It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and J Centre Mall in Cebu presents the Woman Serye featuring series of cancer awareness activities every Wednesday of October 2012 from 1pm to 5pm. In line of this will be a Lay Forum held at the 3rd Level, J Centre Convention Hall 3 on October 3, 10, 17, and 24. There will also be Free Check-ups at the Pink Room, 3rd Level of J Centre Mall on October 10, 17, and 14 also. This is in partnership of the Mandaue City Government.
