Cebu Malls: A mall to rise at Asiatown IT Park

For years, SM City, Ayala Center, Gaisano stores, BTC (Banilad Town Center) and others have relinquished their dominance in the shopping and entertainment industry here in Cebu. Now, there is going to be another one of those big establishments which is set to rise in the former site of The Village.

This is not that surprising for me at all since the whole IT Park is filled with Business Project Outsourcing and IT-related companies plus hundreds, or thousands, of employees. In the news, the Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation (CPVDC) have allocated a hefty amount of P760milliion for the proposed entertainment center and another business process outsourcing building. continue reading » »

I’ve always fancied the places that are often enveloped with so many people from different classes. Of course, as a Cebuano, there are times when one wants to mingle and get along with friends and acquaintances together with a bottle of booze. Back during my early days in college, I and my friends would always see to it that we’ll always go out every weekend. Be it the now defunt disco bars of Halo in SM, Brix, Mi Vida of Ayala, Bai of Richmond Hotel and Fuel. These are just some of the places we use to hang out during weekends. Metro-Ayala Center Cebu

It was a Sunday morning and, to keep me from spending a bit much, I decided not to explore the mall and just stay in my room for the whole day. I carefully laid out my plans for my Sunday when the dreaded brownout occurred. When this kind of situation occurs, there’s only one thing in my mind that I want to do; wait for the lights to turn on again. Then I waited for, like, forever. Three long hours of waiting and I couldn’t take the heat much longer. So, with a full-blast sigh, I decided to hangout in Metro-Ayala Center Cebu.

First off, I didn’t simply make my mind just because of the boiling temperature, perhaps one of my reasons, but not entirely the main one since I needed to buy some essentials anyway. So, I headed off.

Lifestyle

Fast forward to the main part, I kind of realized that through the years, building construction and improvements were already built along the zone of Cebu Business Park. There’s the hotel, commercial buildings and other structures that completes the whole concept of a business park. The centerpiece, which is the Metro-Ayala Center Cebu itself, promotes the type of relaxation and entertainment needed not only by the people around it but to other people as well.

My favorite section in Metro-Ayala Center Cebu would be the bookstore. Reading is greatly essential for me and I value the time I give to absorbing ideas as well as inspiring stories. I also wad off with the people in the entertainment center. Or simply spend my time in coffee shops sipping coffee and inhaling some nicotine. After all, this is where I mostly spend my time whenever I feel like boring, or I need some time to relax.

The food place would be my haven. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy their meals than eating it in a mall? Or in a restaurant. Metro Ayala Center Cebu has got several restaurants or fast food restaurants in line for starving people. Of course, there are also the movie theaters, arcade center, clothes and shoes firms and other establishments.

Market

Metro-Ayala Center Cebu boasts the upper class level but does not necessarily mean that the lower classes are not welcome. They provided that notion without losing the balance of the people who goes in and out. This is so since the merging with the Metro Gaisano blended the average class and upper class images. I actually thought this would confuse the target market but they actually did a fine job.

Everything Cebu

Cebu is getting big and no question about it. We have international facilities here such as the Cebu International Convention Center. We have malls. We have world class resorts and five star hotels. Even renowned international corporations have started to relocate here. The city has a big potential to become one of Asia’s business and tourism hub.

And so it is just about time to have a site that provides a first hand review of products and services that are offered and which can only be found in this lovely and vibrant city of ours.
