The renowned Osmeña family in Cebu has a notable family member back during the early days of the Philippine government. In 1944, Sergio Osmeña, also the leader of the Nacionalista Party, became the second President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, right after the death of then-President Manuel QUezon in the same year.
Sergio Osmeña is actually the first member of the Osmeña to ever grace the emblem of Philippine politics.
