Cebu is also fast becoming an IT hub as many companies, either local or outsourced, are establishing their headquarters in Cebu. The city has become a site for various U.S. call centers, and BPOs.-Wikipedia

Cebu Schools: USC and USJ-R
For years, University of San Carlos and University of San Jose-Recoletos were, somehow, linked to one another like those certain humors which you already heard about. Anyway, I won’t delve into that matter; instead, I’m going to talk about how these two became two of the few much respected and reputable universities in Cebu. continue reading » »

Cebu Schools: Cebu Doctor’s University and UC (2 of 3)
The second two of the most fast-rising universities in Cebu are actually the first two choices I have when I was thinking about going to college. The University of Cebu is close to my home and I was thinking about taking information technology course while Cebu Doctor’s University is for Nursing or Medicine. Anyway, here’s the two of them: continue reading » »

Alright now, the year 2008 is quite possibly a new year in the making. Of course, future projects in Cebu’s overall transformation would certainly put everything in set for into the business world. Moreover, transportation is on the blueprint today when rumors have circled about a possible flyover in the Banilad crossing, which is just one of the most sought out projects this year. continue reading » »

Cebu Schools: Southwestern University
One of the things that we are curious about our parents is their history back in high school and college. I would ask my mother about her lifestyle back when she was a student as well as their other activities in their vacant times. Of course, it’s a nice feeling to know what their lifestyle is about back then compared to today’s standard of living among teenagers and the likes.
Then I asked her from what school she attended her college. She took up Nutrition in Southwestern University and she was certain that things weren’t that convenient for her than it was compared to my education today. However, I’m not going to talk about my mother (until Mother’s Day of course). I’m here to talk about one of the most established universities in Cebu, if not in the Philippines, the SWU, or Southwestern University. continue reading » »

Cebu Schools: University of the Philippines
University of the Philippines-Cebu

One of the most highly-touted universities in Cebu is the University of the Philippines. I’ve never been to its inner grounds since I was able to access only the front building but, I guess, they got a huge area. It occurred to me once that if I go to college I would certainly choose U.P. over the other universities in Cebu, but it was too far from my home so I settled for the other. It’s actually located in Gorordo Ave., Lahug, Cebu City, which is one of the most developed areas in the island of Cebu.
I didn’t actually know this but the complete name of the school is University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College (or commonly U.P. Cebu or the longer U.P.V.C.C.) held by the University of the Philippines in the Visayas. Along with the other thee components in Tacloban, Iloilo and Miagao, the U.P. Cebu was founded 10 years later right when the whole U.P. was established in 1908. continue reading » »
