Cebu’s House Museum Casa Gorordo
Among the most Preserved Historical Sites in Cebu is the Casa Gorordo. It was around the 19th century when it was bought by Juan Isidro de Gorordo and now maintained by the Aboitiz Foundatioin. After it went through restoration, it was opened to the public as a house museum. This depicts the house of the 19th century, which was mostly influenced by the Spanish.

Cebu’s House Museum Casa Gorordo
Casa Gorordo was the typical house of a Filipino who belongs to the higher class of society. Here lay the memories and colorful tradition of Cebu. The house is decorated with antique furniture, books, memorabilia and even costume collections. It is made with the traditional roof tiles, sliding capiz windows and highest quality materials back in those days.

Now, Casa Gorordo is visited by students, foreigners and fellow Cebuanos to see a glimpse of the past. Once you see the house from the outside, you cannot help but notice the brilliance in architecture even centuries back. Inside you will also notice that each piece of furniture or the smallest figurine speaks as if it was telling you a colorful story of the past. As you pass by each part of the house, you can also imagine how it was used and how lively it was back then.

Casa Gorordo is Cebu’s very own treasure. Fortunately, we still have the chance to see it.
