Talking about the best hotels and beach resorts in Cebu does not have to be complicated. Take it from me; it is best for us to enjoy the sun, the sand, the environment, the food, the people and, best of all, the significant time to relax. I actually consider myself as an Internet buff, specifically about the incoming GI Joe and Kung Fu Panda movie, updates in the 2008 NBA Playoffs and tinkering with the Photoshop. Aside from those, I would not forget about inserting a bit about the hotels and beach resorts in Cebu for your references.
Well, I think it is time for our Cebu beach resort for today and I’ll be talking about a certain beach resort in Cebu from the land of Hilutungan, Cordova; the Island and Sun Beach Resort.
Hold on for a minute there, the name might sound obvious though but there is actually more than the Island and Sun Beach Resort itself. In fact, I am not concerned with names in most Cebu hotels and beach resorts, but how the place represents itself to its possible visitors and returnees. So here’s my take:
I would not compare this place in Hilutungan, Cordova to the fancy Cebu beach resorts that I have covered. It’s not that they do not have a chance, but Island Sun and Beach Resort is categorized under my budget-conscious list. Honestly, I considered it’s what I categorized as a-night-with-your-friends-booze-time-of-your-life place. Although the place is indeed romantic (I was impressed), we had to explore the surrounding to see how beautiful this place is. We went fishing, had the most wonderful meals, had some booze and horizon-watching at the beach.
How about the room? Again, I’m not going to complain since this Cebu beach resort is all about simplicity. I'm not saying ike it won’t compete with the best Cebu hotels (those proclaimed as 3-4-5 star hotels), but I loved how they presented and carefully laid out the features of the room. It was orderly, spacious and clean. Without the fancy bedrooms, I would copy their place for my ideal bedroom.
One downside though. When the tide went higher, it made its presence felt under the structure that we are renting. We were somewhat troubled with this one, but one of the personnel guaranteed that the place is safe because it is built with solid concrete and tiles. I sure hope it would last though
The place is surrounded with the village people, with all those roosters and living in a simple life. I was actually jealous though that they get to live the simple life without much complication. Honestly, it was more of a modern rural area to me and it would be nice to have all my appliances geared up and rent or buy a property here (that would be years from now).
Though I missed some of the first round games in the 2008 NBA Playoffs, it was worth the 3 days we have been there. My favorite pastime at the Island and Sun Beach was snorkeling. I enjoyed the sights underwater. Those corals, fish and the underwater scenery still gets me no matter how simple they are.
It is very relaxing indeed to take sometime off from those hectic office problems that we encounter. Me and my friends had a great time with all their food (seafood again), great service (though there were some people that are really weird), and of course, the very quiet evening minus the car horns, the Photoshop projects, the Internet updates on Kung Fu Panda and GI Joe and the 2008 NBA Playoffs. Just a simple sleep and wake up in the morning with the cool and refreshing feeling.
Nothing beats that in these Cebu beach resorts.
