Cebu has made it to the number one spot in the 2008 ranking of Top Emerging Outsourcing Cities as conducted by the US Magazine Business Week. It has named 10 cities which will play an important role in helping their respective countries develop further. Of this, Cebu ranked first, followed by Shanghai and Beijing of China. The US Magazine Business Week cited Cebu’s outsourcing specialties in finance and accounting, legal services, human resources, and English-speaking contact centers.

Almost all cities in the list has the advantage of young and skillful workers, and where English is widely used as second language.

As the world leading economies stumbles, international corporations and organizations are looking for ways to cut cost thus they are increasingly moving both their capital and human resources not only in the most-effective urban destinations, but also ones with a young and skilled population who are willing to work for a relatively cheap wages, and who will also provide quality commodities production and services.
