Cebu Places: Offroads

There are a lot of places in Cebu in which me and my friends would simply chill out. Oftentimes, we just hangout in our drinking place and spend the night there just chatting and drinking our own doze of booze. This goes to show that we’re not really the typical party animals because we care about wonderful essence of companionship, which is beer. In Cebu, most people would simply indulge themselves in happy hours together with a bottle, or more, of beer. Only this time, I settled for a coffee spot just right down the road in Mabolo, Cebu; The Offroads.

The place

Nowadays, coffee has been in almost every person’s lifestyle. Nighshift workers in call centers are actually most of the people that I see drinking more than just the normal coffee intake. However, I don’t exactly see it as a method to stay awake but a time to take the needed break after a tight and complicated work. The Offroads is just right beside this call center building in Mabolo, Cebu and I can simply tell that those people that I saw were call center agents waiting for their shifts, maybe there are other people or so, but mostly they were.

Anyway, my friends and I decided to pull over and invite some caffeine into our systems. The parking lot is actually too big for the targeted capacity of customers in Offroads but who’s gonna complain about that, right? Well, this small establishment has two floors; first is the air-conditioned restaurant-style area, which is where the bar is located while the second floor is an open-space hangout section where people can enjoy the cool air along with a cigarette puff.

It’s actually great to be up there at Offroad’s. The building’s not that high though but it’s enough to see cars passing while you’re just spending time with your buddies and all that. It’s particularly a simple place with simple people for me.

Ambiance

For me, the Offroads is not entirely about being fancy and all that. The place is pretty fantastic for a coffee place even though it’s only a small area. However, I wouldn’t want to spend my time upstairs since I might enjoy too much and not notice that raindrops are already falling to rinse the earth. That wouldn’t be a good idea.

At Offroads, I can particularly say that, sometimes, life is not entirely about going all-out in your busy-laden life but it’s all about setting things in place for you spend time with your friends as well as take a break from it all; or at least, taking your 15-minute break seriously with just a sip and a puff.
