Cebu Restaurants: East, West

Cebu Restaurants: EAST, WEST

Location: Ayala Entertainment Center, Cebu

East and west. Two simple words that simplify this restaurant located in Ayala Center Cebu. These two words provide the exact description of what food style they are providing for their avid-customers. Of course, as a Cebuano myself, I’ve always narrowed myself just passing through this establishment with the notion that this area is off-limits to simple-budgeted people like me. But, due to a reasoning that I haven’t posted for quite a while in this website and I wanted to try east, west for a long time now, I tried it out finally.

The first thing that comes into my mind whenever I dine in a restaurant is the chairs. You know, how comfy they are, if it shapes your buttocks well for that comfortable sitting as well as its tables. In east, west, I found their chairs in this air-conditioned section to be uncomfortable for me. I don’t know exactly why but it really did. That’s why I, and two of my friends, opted to sit in the smoking section. Well, I’m a bit of a smoker myself and that’s certainly is a plus for a customer like me. Then finally, a well-mounded chair with a nice view of the parking lot and cars passing by.

The menu

East, west’s menu doesn’t present itself with hundreds of options; and I liked that. I ordered their "good-for-two" meal, which consists of Potato Joe’s, their own version of French fries, pasta, salad and cream of corn soup. I added another Potato Joe’s and three ice teas for us. There were other dishes in their menu but I retaliated since I wasn’t that hungry and my budget is limited.

The environment

This is actually one of the restaurants that is commonly visited by foreigners; the Koreans, Americans, and others. I’ve seen groups of them, others just all by themselves while others have local citizens as companions. Anyway, the suitable place for customers who really wants to eat is at the air-conditioned section. A simple feel that provides a hefty amount of appetite as you wait for the food you ordered. The smoking area is where those people that takes pleasure in business ventures. This is so since I’ve seen some customers readying their laptops and presenting something to someone, which I think is their client. Well, at this age, the Wi-Fi Internet is common and Cebu is certainly one of the locations that are available of the service.

The food

The food is extraordinary. From its soup, the main dish, the side dish and to the drinks, the carefully picked proportion and combination really blended well with our appetite. The result is an overall satisfaction. For a tea restaurant, they did a great job with the expansion of food selection. However, taxes are exclusive for the food and I didn’t notice this until they gave us the check. The total price is a little bit way off the food price that I just ordered but I think it’s alright. Overall grade would be 8 of 10.
