Cebu Restaurants: Sneak peak at Abaca

Silencing crowds through a sophisticated dish would best describe what sumptuous food is all about. Of course, the ambiance, service and price are the components that would make a restaurant appealing to the customers or not.

In Abaca, which is an exclusive boutique restaurant located in Punta Engaño, provides exciting fresh dishes that will surely make someone drool even if you just show them a picture of a certain serving. Chef Jason Hyatt and Melissa Cannons are behind in what could be the most sophisticated restaurant in Cebu, at least that's what I know of. However, I wouldn't consider this as a slight disadvantage since most Cebuanos often find it interesting to know how well fancy restaurants like this fare to their taste.

The food

Chef Hyatt and Cannons both have the desires to serve authentic and classic steaks and seafood that will keep customers coming back for more. I do think so since there are a lot of people who talks about Abaca; both the food and the price. Let me tell you a bit about Abaca food but I bet when you are reading this you're going to start drooling and would start planning out when to visit. For starters, there's this chopped vegetable salad from a bevy of organic vegetables, the big juicy chilled shrimp with Abaca famous home-made horseradish cocktail to go aong with the crayfish salad complemented with smoked bacon and a bit of avocado. Plus, you can always have the Maryland-style crabcakes with a spicy flavor of chili mayonnaise.

Remember, the one I mentioned earlier was for starters. The main course that would certainly make you want to gobble are consists of the braised lamb shanks, the bone-in prime American rib-eye, those thick-cut veal chops, the luscious New York strip loin and the double cut lamb chops. Darn it! Now I really want to have one. Of course, the main dish will not be complete without the side dishes like the creamed spinach sprinkled with smoked bacon, au gratin potatoes, Abaca-style baked potatoes complemented with homemade sour cream and that distinctive creamy mashed potatoes.

The dessert? I've always been a fan of ice cream and I bet Abaca has a lot of dessert experiments ready to let your taste buds discover a new flavor. Brownie sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and wild berry crepes are there for you to choose from.

Overall

That certainly is something worth waiting for. It may sound like I've been at Abaca but those are just based from several informations that I gathered. The upside of this classy restaurant remains at the highest level and I'm confident that before the end of the year, I'll be able to taste those dishes that I just mentioned.

And I bet the price, ambiance and service are just simple components compared to Abaca's sumptuous, delicious and ever-pleasing range of international taste.
