Cebu Schools: CIT and SWU
Alright now, the year 2008 is quite possibly a new year in the making. Of course, future projects in Cebu’s overall transformation would certainly put everything in set for into the business world. Moreover, transportation is on the blueprint today when rumors have circled about a possible flyover in the Banilad crossing, which is just one of the most sought out projects this year.
Other than that, Cebu colleges/universities have also been brandishing their wares when it comes to quality education, programs and other particular subjects that will boost. For years now, education has always been one of the focuses in Cebu’s development other than the business category.
The A-listers
I’m not gonna be talking about certain international schools that focus on overall reputation but a campuses that served as the cornerstone of bringing in quality education to local aspirants as well as those from across the country. These schools have been magnets in giving out valuable information as well as excellence in learning and have been building its foundation through the years to become one of the A-list colleges/universities of today (in no particular order):
Southwestern University
Southwestern University has vestiges from the trails of war way back in 1946, where the whole Philippines is still busy dusting off the scores of World War II. SWU, the acronym known by many, is the widely-known medical school outside of the metropolis Manila that offers Veterinary Medicine, which is the only university that offers this course up to date. It also offers a list of choices of paramedical courses from A-Z.
Since the dawn of the new millennium, Southwestern University has equipped itself with advanced educational equipment and facilities that caters to different courses particularly to medicinal students that are developed to their fullest potential inside the SWU Veterinary Teaching Hospital and the Sacred Heart Hospital.
Cebu Institute of Technology
The name says it all. This institute covers the story when it comes to information technology and it has reached a new level of potential into becoming the IT hub/education center of Cebu. A long-line of potential computer programmers, IT professionals and analysts simply describes how CIT introduces the path into the overwhelming world of modern technology.
For several years, it has delved itself into the minds of potential IT students to try out their brand of technology education as well as other departments like the College of Engineering and Architecture, which has nine programs, the College of Computer Studies that has four degree programs as well as 3 associated programs, the College of Commerce, College of Education and College of Arts and Sciences.
Basically, the first two that I mentioned are simply one of the fast-rising colleges/universities in Cebu of today.
