Cebu to Bangkok: Cebu Pacific Air direct flight

With the thriving business and leisure destination present among foreign travelers, the domestic carrier Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) owned by Gokongwei company, has announced the first direct flight straight from Cebu to Bangkok, Thailand. The operation of the said schedule will begin on April 6, 2008.

Now that’s one of the things to look forward to next year, especially those who frequently visit Bangkok and its wonders as well as business-related venture.

Candice Iyog, the vice president for marketing and product of Cebu Pacific Air, confirmed this yesterday during a press conference at Cebu Midtown Hotel. Truly, the overall improvement of Cebu in certain industries has led to a domino effect to all industries, particularly in the airlines industry.

This should boost the entire opportunity of Cebu for business operations since the three-times-a-week Cebu-Bangkok flight will add up to six non-stop international services buy Cebu Pacific Air. This is, after all, the first airline that flies from Cebu to Bangkok.

Currently, Cebu Pacific Air has a core to stand with when it comes to direct flight namely to Singapore, Hong Kong, Pusan and Incheon, South Korea and a direct flight to Taipei, Taiwan which will set off on December 14 this year.

Plans

Candice Iyog also pinpointed future flight opportunities particularly Japan, which serves as another potential destination for Cebu Pacific Air. The direct route to Japan is actually awaiting the official opening once seat entitlement issues are settled.

Another direct daily service is the flight between Cebu and Boracay which is set to start on March 28, 2008 next year upon the arrival of their second ATR72 aircraft. March is actually the start of the summer season here in the Philippines and I bet there are going to be a lot of tourists and visitors going in and out of the country.

Cebu Pacific Air is also planning to increase the flight frequencies for the Cebu-Cagayan de Oro flight to four times weekly which will start on January 9, 2008 while the Cebu-Davao route will be three times on daily operation on May 8, 2008. The Cebu-Butuan direct flight is offered by the airline on a p1 seat sale promotion.

These are just some of the plans which are carefully laid out by Cebu Pacific Air and I bet one day, there are going to be a lot of direct flights which will make Cebu the centerpiece of it all.

   It sounds a good idea to have flights from Cebu to Bangkok, bu coming from Bkk to Cebu the ONLY flught departs at 12.05AM, just after midnight and THEN you have 4 hours to hang around in Manila. So only people really desparate will find this schedule worthwhile.

   You advertise for direct flights from Cebu to Bangkok but I can only find stopovers …..can you tell me how to book the direct flights as advertized ?
