Crocolandia - second generation Cebu zoo

It's been a long-time since I've been to a zoo. In fact, I was not a teen yet when I had the chance to take a look at those different animals knowing that I will never get to see them everyday. Well, it was way back when the Cebu Zoo was still open. Though a long time ago, it suddenly closed down due to whatever reasons.

Fortunately, there have been mini-zoos that spurted along the regions, like the Crocolandia in Biasong, Talisay City, Cebu and Family Park of Banilad, Talamban, Cebu City.

Creatures

Of the two, I find Crocolandia as the place where I can definitely spend my day in it; taking pictures of the variety of animals like wild pigs/boars, snakes, deers, and othe reptiles. It's not I can't spend a day in Family Park (I actually spent the weekend their with my family one time) but we're talking about a mini zoo here. The Family Park concentrates on the family venue with a limited animal attactions to see, whle Crocolandia has a lot of wild animals available for the public to see.

When I was there, I saw kids who really had fun watching the animals. Crocolandia even had ostriches, which is of course, a refreshing attraction to most visitors. There were also tortoises, which I loved watching at the most. I thought I saw Pumba of the Lion King here since there were plenty of wild pigs roaming their turf. The different spcecies of birds are also foud here and they have a big space to fly around. There were also iguanas and snakes that I find chilling to see, especially with those scales that I find really weird. The main attraction of Crocolandia is, obviously, their crocodiles, hence, the name. They all look tough really but they are kept securely away from certain happenings.

Getaway

After hours of a seemingly unending animal tour of Crocolandia, I can certainly say that I'm going back here along with my family one day. This is an ideal place for friends and family to spend time with as well as tour guides for young students to really see these kind of animals and not just pictures. Actually, Crocolandia simply blew me away. I never thought there's a place like this in Cebu after the defunct Cebu Zoo, which left me that memory hole ever since. Crocolandia filled that hole for me and I'll definitely go back to see more.
