Dreaming of coffee in Cebu
It’s actually remarkable to think when developments flourish in a city there’s always a tendency of a chain reaction towards almost any industry. And this is one indication that
Cebu is indeed heading towards prominence.
Recently, I tackled about the continued improvement of business and commerce here in
Cebu with the business process outsourcing investments. This kind of work requires the needed attention and awareness among employees, especially during graveyard shifts, that they already included the coffee-drinking habit for them to stay awake. And I mean big time. I, myself, am working for this outsourcing company and since I’m schedule in this ungodly hour of midnight-morning, drinking coffee is my last resort.
Coffee components
Socialization. That’s one word that describe today’s lifestyle in Cebu, especially during weekends when people flock together in coffee establishments to just lounge and talk about business or anything. A lot of coffee establishments have opened since the dawn of the new millennium and it took Cebu by storm. I do notice this kind of lifestyle especially in Ayala Center Entertainment Center where customers sat on the chairs enjoying their cup of coffee with a cigarette on the other hand.
Relaxation, which is another word the best describe when it comes to coffee-drinking. Back when I was in college, me and my friends would just lounge in our canteen and sip a cup of coffee right beside a great view of our school. The calming aroma and wind simply puts an end to those hectic projects and problems that we encounter for the day. Now, the coffee industry in Cebu has taken it to the new heights by introducing a barrage coffee mixes and combinations that you can just ask, “Where did this came from?”.
Staying alert; two words that has instilled into the minds mostly to graveyard shift employees working for business process outsourcing establishments. 10 or 15-minute breaks are usually reserved for coffee-drinking and unwinding from a hectic schedule and work. Of course, coffee provides a soothing feel among the employees especially those that need caffeine for most of their schedule.
Coffee establishments
Frequent coffee shops visited by many include the Bo’s Coffee, Starbucks, Beanhoppers, Coffee Beanery and Coffee Dream. These are perhaps four of the most popular coffee establishments that can be found around
Cebu.
