It was about a week ago when I first saw this “pink jeepney” plying along the streets of Asia Business Park. I thought it was amusing and for a jeepney, a Filipino icon, the unique representation of this jeepney is defining and remarkable. Why? Because for the other fact that it is “pink”, it has designs on it that captivates onlookers and I bet those who ride this pink jeepney will feel really special.

Well, first thing I did was to research about it and voila! It’s a Hilton Cebu version of their shuttle bus, or jeepney to be precise. This is indeed a refreshing ride for Hilton Cebu’s visitors and guests as part of their luxurious theme. They actually call it “Pink Icon”.

The Pink Icon is one ride that visitors of Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa will never forget. More than just an ordinary jeepney that plies the streets of Cebu, this is one jeepney version that is catered toward lavishness and magnificence. A classy shuttle jeepney that is, it elevated itself to prominence with its art-nouveau strokes that will strike onlookers, the latest audio and video system, air-conditioning system and, of course, its marvelous upholstery, reflecting the Cebuano craftsmanship.

Other than its overall design, the Pink Icon is also design-inspired by some components from Rolls Royce and Bentley. That’s some international-deisgn flavor there.

This 22-seater jeepney was made possible by Cebu Hilton Chairman Manny Osmena himself. He intends to bring the Philippine icon jeepney into luxurious business with a flavor of both Miami and French Riviera and I bet he’s already getting there. This is one thing that can make us Cebuanos proud and of course the whole Philippine nation when it comes to hotel and resort accommodation.

Other than that, Chairman Osmena is planning to bring the idea of the Pnk Icon into the ranks of the renowned Flamingo Hilton Las Vegas and show it off to the entertainment capital of the world.

I pretty sure that this new idea will inspire the Filipino style of providing luxurious service and accommodation catering to visitors and guests. A Pink Icon that we can certainly be proud of.
