Matimco Inc. for Sustainable Building

Known for its quality building materials, Mandaue Timber Company or Matimco Inc., started as a small business supplying lumber and wooden cases to beverage companies in Cebu since 1963. Today, it is the only ISO-certified wood processing and treatment company in the country.

Its most well-known product is the MatWood, the Anti-Anay Wood (anti-termite) for its high durability, natural beauty and style. It has become a preferred material for residential and commercial structures.

It is made through a state-of-the-art process that would make wood decay proof and safe for human contact at the same time. The Matimco treatment facility is first in the Philippines and the second biggest in Asia.

Matimco Inc. is also a founding member of Philippine Green Building Council – an alliance of construction and building leaders promoting green practices to the property industry. Matimco Chief Executive Officer, Charlie Liu himself has also been urging the government to pursue sustainable logging for a balanced ecological system.
