NFL Playoffs and Miss Cebu 2008

For those non-sport brawl aficionados out there, is there anything better than the NFL Playoffs this coming weekend?

Of course, there is. It’s Sinulog 2008 and it’s actually better than sitting on your own couch watching those quarterbacks dishing a pass onward to a touchdown. Moreover, it’s also time for me to gear up, drag myself to Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino to watch our very own Cebuanas compete for the crown of Miss Cebu 2008.

Unfortunately, as much as I want to go over there and watch the whole event, my work will deprive to enjoy this spectacular event since I’ll be working my butt off from 1:30AM to 10:30AM. I could watch the NFL Playoffs, but quite honestly, I’m going to miss Cebu’s biggest event of the year for the very first time.

Miss Cebu 2008 candidates

I bet there are already a lot of my fellow Cebuano bloggers out there who already filled in the pages for the Miss Cebu 2008 candidates for Cebuanos to vote, but heck, this is a if-you-can’t-beat-them-join-them move for me as well as a sort of introduction, so here goes:

1 - Tiffany Michelle D. Cabrera, 20 – a 5-foot-3 Miss Cebu candidate with 32-26-34 vital statistics and is studying at the Southwestern University. Tiffany is a representative of Quiot-Pardo, Cebu City.

2 - Carolyn K. Flores, 21 – is a 5-foot-3 chinita with vital statistics of 32-25-34. She hails from Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu and studies at University of San Carlos.

3 – Kathy Lynn G. Atuel, 23 – this 5-foot-5 sweetheart has a stat sheet of 33-24-34 and is 23 years old. She goes to school in Cebu Doctor’s University from Capitol Site, Cebu City.

4 – Priscilla Cassandra S. Gonzales, 18 – one of the youngest candidates, Priscilla’s got her own 33-24-34 stats. She represents the University of San Carlos and Pakigne, Minglanilla, Cebu.

5– Angela Martie Alfeche, 21 – at 5-foot-6, Angel works at ETelecare Global Solutions and has vital stats of 35-27-36 and hails from Poblacion, Naga, Cebu.

6 – Kirstie Joan D. Babor, 20 – studies at Velez College and represents Basak-Pardo, Cebu City spreading the statsheet with her own 32-24-35 and is 5-foot-6 tall.

7 – Priscilla Mae S. Honorio, 20 – at 5-foot-6, Priscilla represents both University of San Carlos and Talisay City with her frame of 32-25-35.

8 – Karen D. Nacario, 18 – the 5-foot-6 femme hails from Camputhaw, Cebu City, has a 33-24-34 stat line and is currently studying at the University of the Philippines.

9 – Marjorie Jane M. Tan, 22 – at 5-foot-6, Marjorie claims the support of Hernan Cortes Street, Mandaue City, Cebu as well as those who are from Cebu Doctors University and has 33-24½-33 body frame.

10 – Sian Elizabeth S. Maynard, 21 – Sian works at Keese Inc. and represents Talamban, Cebu City. Her vital stats of 36-27-36 form her 5-foot-6 tallness.

11 – Girley J. Gabriel, 20 – her 5-foot-7 height is molded with her 33-25-35 vital statistics. She hails from Guadalupe, Cebu City and studies at the University of San Carlos.

12 – Jam Charish P. Libatog, 19 – has vital stats of 34-27-36 representing Capitol Site, Cebu City. At 5-foot-8, she is the tallest Miss Cebu candidate and studies at Cebu Doctors University.

Whew, there you have it. Among all those 12, I bet you’re already thinking who fits well to become Cebu’s Ambassador of Goodwill. However, the props, talent and attire as well as the dreaded interview will determine the next Miss Cebu.

My choices? Candidates No. 2 or No. 12 for the Miss Cebu Pageant and Green Bay Packers for Super Bowl XLIII.
