4Notable Cebuanos: Ted Madamba Jr., photographer

Photographs, still images, camera works, exposures, digital photography, lenses, shutter, lighting and exposure are just some of the components that are involved when notable Cebuano photographer Ted Madamba Jr. begins to work. The dedication and enthusiasm clearly states the whole image of Ted as he works on his shot angles plus his ploy of how his models should emote and portray.
In the celebrations of life (birthdays, parties, anniversaries), especially weddings, photographs are the best method in keeping those moments intact together for the best years to come. Photographers like Ted Madamba Jr. are there to capture every moment, from slip-ups to excellent shots, from the groom to the bride, from the preparation to the reception; still pictures carry the most significant amount of memories. For Ted, digital photography is the modern carrier of reminiscence.
It all began
20 years ago, Ted Madamba Jr. exposed himself to photography – pardon the pun - when he joined the Images Camera Club. Back then, he was a field manager under a major company and he considered working the cameras as a hobby. The main parts in Ted’s involvement in photography is his knack of learning something new as well as teach what he had learned to other people. With this said, teaching is also one of Ted’s passions and he delivered with both determination and efficiency in bringing himself to become one of the most well-established photographers in Cebu, if not, the Philippines. In fact, as an adviser at Bigfoot’s International Academy of Film and Television, Ted was able to conduct his own seminars and workshops that involve the art of photography and its importance to every aspect.
Strictly digital
The intriguing setting of both art and talent were evolved massively during his years in the field of photography. He immersed himself into this passion and later on, in 2002, Ted Madamba Jr. shifted to the modern method of the millennium; digital photography. This new technique has brought Ted to other parts of the world like Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Australia, New York and Florida. For this profession, Ted’s wife, Pinky, is always there to assist him in anyway as his creative director.
However, there are certain issues that are attached in digital photography; one is the difficulty in discerning which is pure talent and which is artificial intelligence. For Ted Madamba Jr., everything is strictly digital and he considered it to be a practical method in both time and money.

The outdoor studio
Later on, Ted was able to establish his own outdoor studio in his new place in Banilad, Cebu City. This 700-square meter photography hub is installed with some features of the beach, bamboo walls, a makeshift swing out of old railroad tracks as well as some Romanesque inspired columns for outdoor setting purposes. This could only be Cebu’s premiere location for both old school and digital photography. From time to time, affiliated photographers and models would visit Ted’s studio to work on some shots as well as pre-nuptial shoots for a certain bride and groom.
Ted Madamba Jr. also extended his coverage online with his website
www.strictlydigitalphotography.com.
Wedding shoots
Ted Madamba Jr.’s tenure in the field of photography has led to many opportunities and one of them is biggest of all occasions; the wedding. Time allowance, efficiency, speedy but sure shots, enthusiasm and having fun with the people around him are just some of the factors that Ted provides during the day of the wedding.
One thing that Ted Madamba Jr. also considers is that he makes sure whole crew is dressed in barong, which synchronizes well with the theme of the wedding. This is so since Ted considers it as the biggest day of a couple’s lives and it won’t be that respectful for his team running around shooting videos and taking pictures in jeans and shirts.
For Ted Madamba Jr., everything is indeed strictly digital…and a taste of discipline.

This is an expression of approval and commendation to Mr. Ted Madamba Jr. for a famed photographer to give a good name (of immense value) to Cebuanos!!!
Q: Do we have a good photography school in cebu?
IAFT or what is popularly known as Bigfoot is offering some photography classes. The good thing is that Mr. Madamba is one of their mentors.
Dear Ted
I am just checking. I am not sure if you will remember me. Your father Mr Teodoro Madamba was my teacher in Management 11 at U.S.C. I left U.S.C. in
1980 and joined TMX. I am quite certain you were one
of the faculty members of B.a. department. After 6+
yrs occupying 3 different posts, I migrated to Aus
tralia, in March 1987 and since then I only have one
employer, ANZ. Can you pls help me to find Mrs Victoria A. Satorre? I am currently in progress writing my first book, an autobiography with a
touch of encouragement/motivation/inspiration.
I believe that if I am a soul inspired at 50 I should be willing and prepared to now inspire
as many souls as I possibly can.
What do you think Ted?
hi just email me satoy@yahoo.com and I will get you in contact with her.
