Little did we know, that Cebu has it’s very own independent filmmakers who have made several unique masterpieces that deviates from the typical redundant mainstream movies. Although a short film, “The Witness” by a true blooded Cebuano could be a proof that it is very possible to create an award-winning piece even at the lowest budget. This is a true depiction of filmmaking passion. continue reading » »

Cebu Beach Resorts: Kasai Village Beach Resort

Who would have thought that there is a Cebu beach resort that gives you a whole bunch of activities like river climbing, adventured through elevated canyons, horse-back riding, motorcycle safari escapade, scuba diving, billiards and if you want to just loosen up, visit a nice beach spa for that needed pampering. Well, Kasai Village Beach Resort boasts all of these features that most visitors just do not want to get back to their beloved city life.

I don’t know about you but Kasai Village Beach Resort has taken itself to a higher level than that of most Cebu beach resorts that I’ve visited. continue reading » »

Old Cebu Pictures: Cebu Railways

Jun 14th, 2008 by infinity | 0

For quite sometime we have been scourging the world wide web for anything related to cebu and for that we have stumbled on some unusual finds. Old and perhaps rare photos of Cebu that somehow reflects its glorious past. Some of these pictures are being sold at Ebay and how I wish our city would take notice of and buy these since it does not cost that much. There are a lot of things to learn from our past.

And so this is a series of posts about old Cebu pictures that we have found on the internet and here's the first one;

Just post comments if you knew something about the place and what it became today.

Cebu Birds

Jun 3rd, 2008 by infinity | 0

With Cebu's growing population and subdivisions indiscriminately sprouting everywhere, even clearing the remaining pocket forests where several exotic animals thrive, one would never thought of finding some of Cebu's elusive exotic birds. And I did right at my own backyard. The block next to our house is an empty lot with some thick vegetation that flourished and for quite sometime undisturbed by humans. It is protected by human excursion because a perimeter fence was built I guess by the owner who might someday want use the space for commercial purposes.

Here's how I was able to know these birds. While I was doing some errands I have noticed some of them frolicking on the lush vegetation looking for food. So I took my video camera and capture few of their activities. I have observed about four species of birds that use the area for food hunting and mating. I have never seen most these birds in my whole life not till now. Of the four, I only knew one and it is named “Maya” in our dialect. I almost forgot to mention that some bats also frequent the area at night. Here are some of the footage of the birds that I hope some people will help me identify what kind of birds they are and the “specie” they belong to;

Now, I am dream of that someday I could buy the area and turn it into a sort of sanctuary for these lovely creatures. The God's creatures that we have neglected and uncared for in the name of development. I am maybe a dreamer but I'm not the only one.
