Paseo in Cebu
Paseo in Cebu
I’ve always fancied the places that are often enveloped with so many people from different classes. Of course, as a Cebuano, there are times when one wants to mingle and get along with friends and acquaintances together with a bottle of booze. Back during my early days in college, I and my friends would always see to it that we’ll always go out every weekend. Be it the now defunt disco bars of Halo in SM, Brix, Mi Vida of Ayala, Bai of Richmond Hotel and Fuel. These are just some of the places we use to hang out during weekends. Then, of course, there’s The Village in I.T. Park but it’s now a site for the thriving commerce in Cebu.
However, there are others that have blossomed anew in to provide that longed for nighttime entertainment and enjoyment that Cebuanos would want to have every now and then.
Paseo. That’s one Spanish word that denotes the word “stroll”. In Cebu, this is not the usual strolling for everyone since this is the place where most people would want to spend their night, especially during the weekends.
Features
Paseo could be the place not just for socializing but is also an entertainment haven. This is, of course, happening right now since most of the people think of Paseo as the
“default” place whenever they think about where to spend their weekends. Paseo opened in February 2007 and, since then, has provided an ample amount of lifestyle for Cebu as well as its citizens. A range of food outlets, business establishments and live entertainment awaits in Paseo for those people who simply wants to get away from the likes of busy work, studies and hectic schedules and businesses.
At first I thought Paseo is only open at night, but they actually open 24/7. Now that’s some place for all Cebuanos and visitors. Plus, this is where a sizeable parking lot is located that is strategically constructed to accommodate a large number of nighttimers.
The area
Of course, this area in Mabolo is also thriving for nighttime entertainment development. Not only Paseo is present here but also some of the recognized restaurants and cafes like Offroads, BBQ.COM, Sarossa Hotel, Castle Peak Hotel and Tong’s Seafood Restaurant.
