I actually first visited the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Apas, Lahug, Cebu. And, of course, I was kind of mesmerized by the way how the place is designed as well as its interior paneling and the heavy-duty security (typical for a casino). I visited this place for how many times already and I still find it appealing. Anyway, it was only years later that I found out about the other branch, which is the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino in Mactan, Cebu.

Background

The place is located just meters away from the Cebu International Airport and is actually about 15 minutes away from those beautiful sandy beaches that Lapulapu City boasted for years. Also, the metropolitan Cebu is reachable with a 30-minute ride only. The Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino could be the place for any visitor’s and foreigner’s dream and you may ask why? This is actually the pleasure haven that is far away from the elements of modernization. The beaches, dining, atmosphere, business and great people are as welcoming as much your mother would welcome you after leaving her for years. And, of course, the casino, which a place for excitement and what-nots that one would like to have and that’s a 24-hour international standard.

Rooms and facilities

I simply ventured around for a bit and asked questions that make sense (not that I don’t make sense but you know what I mean). Anyway, you can select from a range of 164 air-conditioned units ranging from poolside rooms to majestic suits. I can certainly say that this is one of Cebu’s ever-grand hotels. And the facilities? It actually depends on what type of room do you want. Safety is a no biggie here since they are inspired by those casino-type securities. And also the usual facilities like cable and satellite TV, a private bathroom, telephone and a mini bar.

Hotel facilities

If I have all the money in the world, I would really love to be here. The Waterfront hotel boasts simple yet elegant facilities like the cocktail bar, restaurants, a gymnasium where you can stretch those arms and legs as well as Jacuzzis for a simple relaxation. I saw a line of conference facilities, lounges and disabled facilities that are indeed pretty impressive. And of course, the swimming pool.

Food

You might be curious as to why did I put the “food” section last. Actually, I’m a self-declared food critic. I might not be like those professional food critic but I certainly know my taste. Anyway, Waterfront’s season-inspired menus as well as a variety of entrees kept me on my feet. They are indeed appetizing and I really enjoyed the savoury seafood and their specialties. I can actually classify their food as a solid A. Also, I did enjoy the night relaxation with my favorite wine.
